Affiliation and Partnership

Myanmar Baptist Convention is a
member of the Myanmar Council of
Churches, Christain Conference of
Asia, World Council of Churches,
Asian Baptist Federation and the
Bapist World Alliance. It works in
partnership with organizations such
as ther American Baptist Churches
(USA), Southern Baptist Convention,
World Association for Christian
Communication, EZE, Diakonia among
others. |

Organization |
|
|
Myanmar Baptist Convention comprises
13 Language Conventions (Kayin, Pwo
Kayin, Kacin, Zomi, Tedim, Asho
Chin, Lishu, Mon, Lahu, Myanmar,
Naga, Wa, Akha), 5 Regional
Conventions (Northern Shan, Shweli
Shan, Southern Shan and Eastern
Shan, Rakhine) and two churches,
Immanuel Baptist Church and Judson
Church. Myanmar Baptist Convention
has a Triennial Convention, an
Annual Board of Management meeting
and Biannual Executive Meeting to
conduct the work of the Convention. |

Theological Education |
|
There are 36 Baptist Bible School and
seminaries offering degrees such as
Licentiate of Theology, Bachelor of
Theology, Master of Divinity and Master
of Theology.
Myanmar Institiute of Theology (MIT) is directly under the sponsorship of
the Myanmar Baptist Convention. The
Principal is Rev. Dr. Simon Pau Khan En
and Vice Principal is Rev. Dr. Maung
Maung Yin. MIT offers degrees in
Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies,
Master of Arts in Christian Studies,
Master of Theological Studies, Master of
Divinity, Master of Theology, Master of
Ministry and a joint Doctor of Ministry
program wiht Union Theological Seminary,
Manila, Tthe Philippines. |
